With the sense of deep compunction and spiritual joy, the Orthodox Church formally acknowledged two new Saints today.
The Ecumenical Patriarchate, under Patriarch Bartholomew, moved today to canonize The Venerable Tychon the Russian (1884-1968) (the spiritual father of St. Paisios the Athonite), and the Venerable Hatzigeorgis the Athonites (1809-1886) (of Kavsokalyvia).

O God of our Fathers, Who always act with kindness towards us; take not Your mercy from us, but guide our lives in peace through the prayers of the saints.
May we have their blessings!
Through the prayers of our Holy Fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us and save us! Amen!
